In the case of Becky Lynch, she opted to leave the company just to take a break and has no interest in signing with another promotion. She’s been there for years as a top star, and her husband, Seth Rollins, also works for the company. Ricochet was another star who left, but he did so because he wanted to go to AEW to show the world his talents.
WWE has been able to lock down the likes of Drew McIntyre, Seth Rollins, and most recently Asuka to new deals. They will have to ink Kevin Owens into a new deal, as he has a few months left on his existing deal.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that WWE has several stars whose contracts are up.
Meltzer wrote, “WWE went to a number of people whose deals are coming up over the next several months to sign new contracts. Asuka was announced publicly. There may be others but WWE did not confirm them.”
