WWE Is Making Changes To SmackDown

WWE Friday Night SmackDown is about to experience more changes than just moving from FOX to the USA Network starting tonight.

Things announced for SmackDown include Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes defending against Solo Sikoa in a steel cage match, Kevin Owens & a mystery partner vs. A-Town Down Under (Grayson Waller & Austin Theory), and Carmelo Hayes vs. Andrade. The steel cage match will open the show.

Fightful Select reports that SmackDown is expected to get a new theme song soon after it had used a def rebel (featuring Supreme Madness) song. They were told the word internally is that it would be a “legit artist,” with no further details given.

WWE will also change the show’s ending. Since SmackDown doesn’t have to get off the air two minutes before the top of the air ahead of local news broadcasts on FOX anymore, they have a little more flexibility than usual.

USA Network is generally more flexible with NXT, while Raw has not been able to have overruns in recent years. WrestleVotes also shared this potential new logo for SmackDown that hasn’t been confirmed, although SmackDown is expected to get a new logo regardless:
