WWE Moved a Lot of Tickets for Raw Following Cody Rhodes Movement

The Rock received backlash for taking Cody Rhodes’ spot at WrestleMania 40, where he is expected to face Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns at the event. Since last week’s SmackDown, there have been a few different Twitter hashtags for Rhodes.

Backlash

WWE is expected to announce Rock vs. Reigns this Thursday at the WrestleMania Kickoff event. Things have gotten so bad that The Rock’s daughter, NXT General Manager Ava, noted on social media that she has been receiving death threats from some fans because of the situation.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted WWE went from 7,600 tickets sold for Raw last Friday and had 10,000 tickets sold by Monday night.

Ticket sales

“I don’t know. It doesn’t feel like there’s certainly an audience that hates it. But, you know, there was 10,000 people [at Raw], you know, and here’s the other thing, too, is like, whatever they’re doing, it’s sure working. Because, like tonight’s show, just a couple of days ago, they had, like, 7600 tickets out. There are over 10,000 people there tonight. I mean, you don’t move that many tickets from Friday to Monday, ever. So whatever it is, people are buying this thing. They are paying to see it. You know, I think that there’s going to be a ton of people at T-Mobile [Arena] on Thursday.”
