WWE no longer using two former stars as producers

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020, WWE downsized in all areas of the business from talent, employees, and producers. After returning to live event touring a year ago, WWE started bringing back some producers but didn’t have as many as they did before the pandemic.

After WrestleMania 38, there had been a big push for more producers to be added because of the workload and time the company expects of them, according to PWinsider.com.

The report noted “the company recently instituted some budget cuts, so Curtis Axel and Ariya Daivari, who had been working as producers on a probationary basis, are no longer being brought in.” This was said to have made workload harder for the rest of the producers.

With the cutbacks, some producers have been dropped, at least in the short term, and the remaining producers are said to be “extremely overworked.”

Jason Jordan, who oversees all the Producers, was not at Friday’s SmackDown because he and his wife are expecting a new baby. Adam Pearce took the point position for the team at SmackDown.

Axel and Daivari started working as a producer in April.
