Dijak vs. Trick Williams vs. Josh Briggs vs. Bron Breakker vs. Tyler Bate in the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge where the winner would become the #1 contender for the NXT Title was booked at this year’s WWE NXT Deadline premium live event. The following is the play-by-play coverage of the match:
Dijak, Briggs and Bate were the first three in. Dijak pinned Briggs with his finisher for the first point. Briggs pinned Dijak moments later for a point before targeting Bate and using the pod as a weapon. Trick next in and laid out Trick with a big clothesline as Dijak was flying off the top rope. Bate with a spinning back suplex to Trick. Bate with a sitdown powerbomb to Trick for a point. Bate was leading with 2 points at this point. Bron came out and pinned Briggs with a spear right away. He speared Bate right after then speared Dijak, who was diving off the top rope. Bron had 3 points in 40 seconds. Dijak and Briggs fought in the pod. Dijak with a big boot to Trick for a point. Bate with a frankensteiner for a point. There was a double pin for Dijak and Briggs. Bate, Dijak, and Bron were tied at 3 with four minutes to go. Trick got speared by Bron through the barricade. Dijak chokeslammed Bron through the announce table. Trick pinned Briggs for his first point. Eddy Thorpe came out to cost Dijak from getting a point. Williams got three straight falls including the last fall on Bron within the last minute.
