It was expected for weeks and it was officially announced today that Hideo Itami has been released.
“WWE has come to terms on the release of Kenta Kobayashi (Hideo Itami),” WWE said in a short statement on their website.
This one is not a surprise because he requested his release last month and the word going around backstage was that the company had no problem letting him go because he wanted to go back home to Japan. In other cases, WWE has been hesitant to let people go out of fear that they could jump to All Elite Wrestling.
Itami joins Tye Dillinger and Producer Arn Anderson on the list of releases earlier today.
