WWE plans on removing Charlotte Flair-Ronda Rousey botch for taped SmackDown show

WWE will edit the contract signing segment that was taped this past Friday. The segment is scheduled to air this coming Friday night on SmackDown. WWE had to tape the show because the crew will be traveling to Saudi Arabia for the Elimination Chamber show.

As previously noted, Naomi and Ronda Rousey will team up to face Charlotte Flair and Sonya Deville at the Elimination Chamber show. As part of the final hype for that match, they did a contract signing segment that ended in physicality. During Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez asked Dave Meltzer if he had seen the clip of Flair botching the spot where she was supposed to hit her head on the table.

“I didn’t see the clip, I heard it was terrible. I heard they’re gonna edit it out, though,” Meltzer said.

Alvarez noted that the head slamming spot is critical to their angle so it would be tough to edit out the botch but Meltzer added, “they’ll figure out a way.”

Typically, WWE likes to have the cameras shake to create extra movement but the cameramen seen in the clip below are standing still so they might have to do fast jump cuts in post-production to make the botch less obvious.
