WWE typically hires trainers and Producers who are done with their in-ring careers. However, sometimes people are hired to work behind the scenes while they can still go in the ring.
Former WWE star Kenn Doane was hired in 2021 to work behind the scenes as a trainer at the Performance Center and as a Producer. You may remember him from his days as Kenny Dykstra when he was part of The Spirit Squad faction. Doane was released by the company in 2008 and was brought back for a brief storyline on SmackDown with Dolph Ziggler in 2016. Since returning in 2021, he’s been seen on occasion as one of the backstage people breaking up brawls.
Doane is now 37 years old and he stated on Twitter that he has a lot left in the tank. Whether or not he will get the chance to wrestle again in WWE is up to management. Doane is a great athlete and many saw star potential in him during his first run. At 37 years old, he could still wrestle for several more years at a high level.
