Despite WWE’s longstanding relationship with Donald Trump, fans should not expect the company to follow UFC onto the South Lawn anytime soon.
According to Wrestlevotes Radio on Fightful Select, a WWE event at the White House is not in the cards, though the company would reportedly be open to the idea if the financials made sense.
The report comes on the heels of UFC Freedom 250, which TKO’s mixed martial arts arm staged on the South Lawn of the White House on June 14, an event tied to Trump’s 80th birthday and the lead-up to America’s 250th anniversary. The show came together after years of discussion and significant financial commitment, with UFC reportedly footing a $60 million bill for the production.
UFC CEO Dana White has since made it clear the event was a one-off, repeatedly saying it will not happen again and citing the steep costs and logistical challenges of staging fights on federal grounds. “I can’t afford it,” White said, calling the show a “one-of-one.”
WWE was well represented at UFC Freedom 250, with Nick Khan, Triple H, and Roman Reigns all on hand for the event.
