WWE Reportedly Trying To Retain Xavier Woods With ‘Tyler Breeze Deal’

WWE is trying to retain Xavier Woods through a non-wrestling video game arrangement following his recent departure from the company, Bryan Alvarez reported on Wrestling Observer Live.

Alvarez said he had heard the same information from multiple people, and laid out what he had been told.

“I’ve heard this from a lot of people this weekend, that I do believe that WWE is trying to retain Woods with, as it was referred to repeatedly, the Tyler Breeze deal, which is basically he gets paid money to do stuff for the video game. And I don’t know if he will accept that offer. I don’t know what’s going on in his head, but he might. So it is not a foregone conclusion that both of The New Day are going to AEW. It’s likely going to happen, I would say. But there are things being done where WWE is trying to retain him for other things.”

The “Tyler Breeze deal” reference is to former WWE wrestler Mattias Clement, who performed under the Breeze name. Breeze was released from his WWE wrestling contract in 2021 but has continued to work with the company on the WWE 2K video game series since, most recently consulting on the MyGM mode for WWE 2K26 alongside Woods. Breeze and Woods are close friends and co-operate the UpUpDownDown YouTube gaming channel.

Woods and Kingston mutually parted ways with WWE on May 2, 2026. Both posted statements following the news. The two spent over a decade as part of WWE’s New Day faction alongside Big E. Click here to read Kofi’s statement. Click here for Xavier’s statement.
