WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event has added a Women’s Tag Team Championship match to its May 23 lineup, with Scream Mode (Brie Bella and Paige) set to defend the titles against The Irresistible Forces (Lash Legend and Nia Jax) at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, IN.
The match was set after Bella and Paige successfully defended the titles on Monday’s Raw against The Judgment Day’s Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez. Bella rolled Perez up for the three-count after Liv Morgan was ejected from ringside, and a tag title belt slid into the ring, and Perez fell into Bella’s setup. The Judgment Day, Morgan, and Perez immediately attacked the champions afterward, with Bayley and Lyra Valkyria making the save.
Earlier on May 15, SmackDown in Columbia, SC, Lash Legend and Nia Jax confronted Bella and Paige in a backstage segment to call for the title match. Bella and Paige went on to defeat Giulia and Kiana James in a non-title win on the same show, with the SNME title shot for the Irresistible Forces materializing once Bella and Paige cleared the Judgment Day defense on Raw.
Scream Mode is the official team name for Bella and Paige, locked in as part of new WWEShop merchandise this past week. The name is a hybrid of Bella’s signature Brie Mode and Paige’s Anti-Diva screaming. Bella and Paige won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships in the Fatal Four-Way at WrestleMania 42, with Paige returning to WWE for the first time in nearly a decade to fill in for Nikki Bella after Nikki’s ankle injury forced her out of the match.
The current confirmed SNME lineup also got an additional match on Monday, with Becky Lynch vs Sol Ruca added as a non-title bout. Ruca challenged Lynch for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship on Raw, but Lynch refused to put the title on the line until Ruca had picked up a main roster win. Ruca lost her main roster debut to Liv Morgan, lost again to Iyo Sky last week, and remains without a win since her post-WrestleMania 42 call-up.
