The overnight ratings are in for Friday’s WWE SmackDown episode, which was the post-SummerSlam edition of the blue branded show.
The episode drew an average of 2.874 million viewers, which is technically up from last Friday’s SmackDown episode that did an average of 2.237 million viewers on FOX, according to Spoiler TV.
The first hour did 2.933 million viewers while the second hour did 2.815 million viewers. To compare, a week ago, the first hour had 2.213 million viewers and the second hour had 2.260 million viewers.
It also pulled in an average of 0.65 rating in the 18-49 demographic. That is up from the 0.55 rating in the 18-49 demographic the show did last week.
Just like the past two weeks, the overnight ratings were impacted as SmackDown ended up being preempted in at least 24 markets thanks to NFL preseason games that aired on local FOX stations.
It should be noted that this is the overnight number and the actual rating won’t be released until Monday. Thus, expect a much lower viewership number when the final rating comes out. Next week, there will be no preseason games so SmackDown will go back to normal.
WWE Smackdown was preempted in at least 24 markets last night for NFL preseason games.
Fast affiliates indicate Fox was watched by 2.87 million viewers 8-10pm. Expect a lower final rating for Smackdown reported Monday. https://t.co/sBGqQT64ol
