WWE SmackDown airs tonight from the Resch Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and the last piece of the SummerSlam card gets filled in before the show is over.
Giulia faces Lash Legend in the final qualifying match for the interim WWE Women’s Championship ladder match. The winner joins Charlotte Flair, Chelsea Green, Jade Cargill and Tiffany Stratton in the five-way at SummerSlam on Sunday, which crowns an interim champion with Rhea Ripley out injured.
The match was made after Nia Jax complained to general manager Adam Pearce about losing her own qualifier by disqualification, when her opponent Flair was attacked by Cargill during the match.
Two championships are on the line in the other announced match. Damian Priest and R-Truth defend the WWE Tag Team Championship against The War Raiders in a winner takes all match, with Erik and Ivar’s AAA World Tag Team Championship also at stake. The two teams agreed to the match several weeks ago.
CM Punk and Cody Rhodes meet face to face for the last time before Rhodes challenges Punk for the Undisputed WWE Championship on Night One of SummerSlam. As the go-home segment for the weekend’s biggest match, it is likely to close the show.
