WWE SmackDown star released

WWE has announced the release of SmackDown star Steve Cutler.

The company issued the standard statement they send out when they release a wrestler: “WWE has come to terms on the release of Steve Cutler. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”

Cutler has been with the company since 2014 and was brought up to the main roster last year alongside Wesley Blake and Jaxson Ryker as part of The Forgotten Sons.

The group disappeared from WWE TV several months ago until Ryker was brought back as part of the Raw roster with Elias. Meanwhile, Cutler and Wesley Blake were added to King Corbin’s act as the Knights of the Lone Wolf.

It’s not clear if this is just a one-off or the beginning of a wave of releases as the company often does to cut costs. Last month, Lars Sullivan was released by the company but his release was not related to budget cuts.
