One WWE star has taken a major blow due to a serious injury that will keep them sidelined for the next several months, likely a year.
The injury
Cora Jade had her match stopped due to an injury while challenging Lyra Valkyria for the Women’s Title last Friday night at an NXT live event in the main event. The top star suffered a knee injury, causing the match to be stopped. The referee and doctors checked on her before helping her to the back. It was feared internally that it might be a torn ACL.
Jade signed with NXT in 2021. Since her arrival, Jade has been pushed as a central player in the NXT women’s division, including as a babyface star, before turning heel when she attacked Roxanne Perez.
Confirmation
Jade had just returned to NXT TV last month after a four-month hiatus. Dave Meltzer noted on Twitter the injury is a torn ACL.
Meltzer tweeted, “The Cora Jade knee injury from the weekend house show we talked about on the show last night is an ACL tear.”
