Gunther vs. Nick Aldis took place at the WWE SummerSlam Premium Live Event from U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Gunther beat down Aldis from the get go then tossed him to the floor so he could talk trash to Mickie James, the wife of Aldis. Nick tossed him into the corner, hit a back breaker for 2. Gunther put him in a sleeper. Gunther laid him out with a clothesline before Aldis fought back and hit a superplex. Nick missed a dive off the top rope and avoided a big boot. Nick with a powerslam then an elbow drop off the top rope then another one. Nick put him in the cloverleaf submission, but Guther got to the bottom rope. Gunther tossed him in the corner then Nick countered a sleeper only for Gunther to power out then hit a powerbomb for 2 followed by elbow strikes and the rear-naked choke for the win.
