WWE To Tape Upcoming SmackDown Episode

WWE will be pre-taping the Fourth of July weekend episode of SmackDown as part of a new slate of summer dates announced today.

The company revealed that Atlantic City, New Jersey, will host a combined Raw and SmackDown event on Monday, June 29, at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall. Raw will air live that night, with SmackDown set to broadcast in its regular Friday time slot on July 3. This marks the first time Atlantic City has hosted a televised WWE event since 2008. WWE is partnering with Visit Atlantic City, the Atlantic City Sports Commission, and Oak View Group for the show. The July 4 holiday this year marks the 250th anniversary of the United States.

The Atlantic City taping will be the second SmackDown advance taping in late June. As previously reported, WWE announced that London’s O2 Arena will host a SmackDown taping on Tuesday, June 23, with that episode set to serve as the go-home show for the Saudi Arabia Night of Champions PLE and air in its regular Friday slot on June 26.

In total, WWE announced 16 new domestic Raw and SmackDown dates ranging from the end of June through the beginning of September. The confirmed dates include:

  • Monday, June 29: Atlantic City, New Jersey — Raw and SmackDown, Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall
  • Monday, July 6: Chicago, Illinois — Raw, Allstate Arena
