Edge, real name Adam Copeland, has his next Hollywood project lined up.
Variety reported that Edge is set to star in the “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” series on Disney+. The WWE Hall Of Famer will appear in a recurring guest star role as Ares, the god of War.
The character is described as “handsome in a wicked way and arrogant, despite not always being the sharpest tool in the shed. He loves conflict and acts as an agent of chaos wherever he goes.”
Suzanne Cryer and Jessica Parker Kennedy have also been cast in the series, which is currently in production in Vancouver. A premiere date was not announced.
Edge has previously starred in shows such as “Vikings,” “Haven,” and “The Flash” and films like “Money Plane” and “Interrogation.”
His latest last match happened at last Saturday’s Extreme Rules, where he lost an I Quit Match to Finn Balor. The match saw Edge’s wife, Beth Phoenix, get involved.
WWE booked a finish that saw Ripley take out Phoenix with brass knuckles. Priest took out Edge before Balor hit with his finisher to Edge several times. Ripley was about to hit Phoenix with a chair, but Edge said he quit. However, the heel faction got some extra heat when Ripley hit Phoenix with the conchairto after the match.
