John Cena’s WWE in-ring retirement in 2025, announced during Money in the Bank, still has fans talking.
During his promo, the former WWE Champion said he would be there when Raw moves to Netflix before saying the Royal Rumble, the Elimination Chamber, and WrestleMania 2025 will be the last times he competes. He plans to wrestle throughout the year and wants to work 30–40 matches.
It should be noted that Cena’s last match will not be at WrestleMania, as he plans to work through the year. In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that different names have been talked about.
However, the report noted they were told, “Nothing is for sure as far as opponents, and he’s discussing who he would like to work with.” Meltzer added, “There is a tentative schedule, including major arenas and overseas dates.”
Cena previously made a surprise appearance on the post-WrestleMania episode of Raw for a quick six-man tag team match, where he helped The Miz and R-Truth win. The night before, he was involved in the WrestleMania XL main event between Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns.
