Xavier Woods reacts to CM Punk saying Big E should dump New Day

Last week while doing a SummerSlam 1992 watch party, CM Punk, Booker T, and Renee Young discussed Big E’s new singles run.

This is where Punk noted that he thinks Big E needs to separate himself from fellow New Day members, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, during this run.

Booker T has been vocal about how he thinks Big E needs to ditch being a comedy character and become more serious during this time.

Woods made an appearance on the Battleground Podcast where he responded to the idea of Big E not being associated with the group during this time or in the words of Punk, “dumping” them.

“I mean I don’t really have time to think about stuff like that. I’m kind of busy, burning the candle at both ends while being injured, trying to make a name for myself instead of talking about what everybody else is doing. I love that people have enough passion about what’s going on to talk about it. It’s great.”

He brought up how it’s one of those situations where they’ve explained many times that they’re bond and friendship comes before anything else. Woods stated how people said the same thing when Kofi had his run as WWE Champion and that worked out okay.

Woods stated that everyone has a voice and it’s a situation where to him, people want something different and history has shown that you can have one toolbox instead of several toolboxes. He said that some people want to go back to the old tools.

Woods wants something to come out of this singles run. “I want Big E to hold all of the titles, I want Kofi to hold all of the titles. I want to hold all of the titles. The way that we get there is going to be in our own way.”

He thanked the fans for their support before adding, “We’ve always wanted to be different and we’re going to get there by being different.”
