Zelina Vega made her return to WWE this week on Friday Night SmackDown. This is Vega’s first WWE appearance since her release last November when an issue arose after the company told their talent to shut down their third-party social media accounts that were generating revenue independently from WWE. Around this time, there was talk of SAG-AFTRA and Andrew Yang getting involved to get wrestlers to form a union but nothing came out of that.
Tony Khan stated a few months back that he would be interested in speaking with Vega about signing her to an AEW contract and the rumor is that Aleister Black is headed there so the natural speculation was that Vega would be showing up on Dynamite soon. As seen on tonight’s SmackDown, she is back with WWE.
Vega was announced by Mandy Rose as a competitor for the women’s Money In The Bank ladder match. That led to a confrontation and a match against Liv Morgan. Vega lost the match to Morgan, who has won three matches in a row in recent weeks.
