Everyone loves Andre The Giant but most people remember him as the smiling big man in the Princess Bride. The truth is he was quite nimble in his youth. Yeah, he was still a giant but Andre could still get around in more ways than one.
Andre was a ladies man, an athlete, and a drinker. He was well known and loved the world over as he still remains a tent pole in pop culture to this day. In essence, Andre was one of the most amazing and fascinating people on the planet.
The upcoming Bill Simmons HBO documentary about Andre The Giant will hopefully be incredible and we can’t wait to learn more about this giant among men. Our good friend Brian The Guppie recently shared an outstanding clip of Andre at twenty-years-old in 1966. As you can see he looked very different as a younger man.
Andre The Giant laid down a legacy in entertainment and a library’s worth of stories told in the closest confines of wrestling’s inner-circles. So take some time and watch this cool little clip. Even if you don’t speak French it’s still pretty great.
