The main event on the Smackdown side of things pitted Jinder Mahal against Shinsuke Nakamura for the WWE Championship at the 30th edition of WWE SummerSlam.
Nakamura got the grand entrance with the violinist that has played before for him at other major events. Mahal was able to retain the title thanks to help from the Singh Brothers. Both brothers got in the ring and Nakamura fought them off but that allowed Mahal to apply the Khalas finisher.
This should not be a surprise to most fans because WWE still plans on doing shows in India and they would want to headline those shows with Mahal as champion. With that said, fans in Brooklyn seemed shocked by the finish.
