David Otunga says Jennifer Hudson stopped his WWE in-ring career, she wants him to seek employment as child custody battle gets ugly

It looks like the issues between WWE Superstar and singer Jennifer Hudson are not over. Attorneys for Otunga and Hudson met with a judge on Friday for over an hour.

TMZ Sports obtained legal docs where Otunga claims that Hudson is lying to the judge in their child custody dispute. Hudson claims that Otunga basically sits at home and that he needs gainful employment so she doesn’t have to pay child support.

This is an ironic claim, according to Otunga, because she was the one who gave him an ultimatum 5 years ago to choose wrestling or his family. So, essentially, she is the reason why he is not wrestling. Otunga wrestled a handful of matches in 2013, 2014 and 2015 but his full-time wrestling days essentially ended in March of 2013. Since 2015, Otunga has been used on-air as a pay-per-view Kickoff show host and commentator.

In the legal docs, Otunga said that he is employed in WWE while working on other entertainment projects. Hudson, according to the docs, is making somewhere between $8 million to $13 million per season for her work on NBC’s “The Voice” show.

Otunga said that Hudson is focused on her money while he is focused on taking care of their 8-year-old son. Hudson’s lawyer indicated in a filing that he would ask the judge on Friday to compel Otunga to seek employment and maintain a job diary.

There is a gag order in place that prevents both parties from talking to the media. Hudson’s lawyer is looking to dismiss Otunga’s petition for sanctions against her for allegedly violating the gag order.
