Drew McIntyre was injured during his match at NXT TakeOver: WarGames against Andrade Cien Almas in an amazing NXT Title match which wasn’t even the best match on the card. Now the former Chosen One is out with a torn bicep and nursing his recovery. But as he gets back into fighting shape, he has a pretty awesome honor coming his way.
McIntyre is set to be inducted into the ICW Hall Of Fame. He got his first real taste of fame as part of Insane Championship Wrestling back in 2006 as their first champion and now he’s returning for a very special occasion.
When speaking about his upcoming Hall Of Fame induction to the Sports Bible, McIntyre discussed his injury and how things are going for him. In the end, he says that he’s feeling great and fans will have to judge for themselves when he steps in the ring on February 12th for his induction.
“I’m feeling good. I’ll say this much; the fans that are there on the night [of my Hall Of Fame induction], there’s limited tickets still left. This is my first public appearance so when everybody sees me they can judge for themselves if they think I’m ready to be back in the ring because I’ve got my sights set on the world.”
Hopefully, McIntyre will be able to come back full of energy to reclaim a top spot in NXT. But if he just jumps straight to the main roster due to WWE’s need for top heels, I wouldn’t complain about that booking decision one bit.
