The latest on Dean Ambrose’s WWE in-ring return

Dean Ambrose was taken out of action in the midst of chasing the Raw Tag Team Championships alongside Seth Rollins and it was terrible timing. Of course, an injury never happens at a convenientĀ time. Ambrose had gone a long time without a considerable hiatus due to injury but all that damage Ambrose put on his body throughout his career finally came to a head when he was diagnosed with a torn triceps.

Ambrose was in Birmingham, Alabama over the weekend as PW Insider noted presumably getting an update on his recovery from doctors. Therefore he’s on his way to recovery but it still might be a longer process than some fans would prefer.

When The Lunatic Fringe first had his operation in December WWE noted Ambrose would be out of action for 9 months so there is still a long way to go. Whether or not this is an inflated recovery time from WWE remains to be seen but Bryan Alvarez noted last week on Wrestling Observer Live that aside from Braun Strowman’s recent elbow procedure where WWE did fudge the numbers to make Strowman look like a freaky healer like John Cena, those projected return times are usually what the doctors have really told them.

Whether Ambrose can come back by SummerSlam is another story because it could happen in theory. But WrestleMania 34 looks like it’s still out of the cards for Dean-O at this point. After all, Ambrose is scheduled for an autograph signing on WrestleMania Sunday at WWE Axxess which is usually a spot reserved for those who are not working the Show Of Shows.
