Jason Jordan required a non-invasive outpatient procedure on his neck and there was some real hope that he would be ready in time for WrestleMania. But Kurt Angle came out this week on Raw and announced his storyline son wouldn’t be competing at the Show Of Shows due to the time he needs to recover from his procedure.
But it turns out there were actually plans as late as Thursday to keep Jason Jordan around at WrestleMania so Seth Rollins could have someone to compete against on the Grandest Stage Of Them All.
“You know as late as Thursday [Jason Jordan] was still hoping to wrestle Rollins at WrestleMania,” Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio. He went on to say that this is probably a legitimate situation although he also noted WWE used Rollins’ own knee injury before WrestleMania last year in the buildup to his match against Triple H. However, this kind of booking decision is usually reserved for babyfaces and monsters.
“I got the impression that between putting Rollins in [the Elimination Chamber] and everything that they’ve changed the direction for Rollins, but we’ll see.”
You never know what can happen in WWE and although it was assumed JJ would be able to perform by Mania this year, it looks like WWE might have devised other plans.
