If you watched this week’s 205 Live, it should be clear to everyone that Triple H’s fingerprints are on this show.
This week, there was a backstage segment with Jack Gallagher being told by General Manager Drake Maverick to show up in actual ring gear next week instead of the suit he has been wearing during his matches in recent months.
Also, a vignette aired for Buddy Murphy. They showed footage from a weigh-in to show that Murphy was able to make weight just below 205 pounds. He will be part of the Cruiserweight title tournament that will culminate with a title match at WrestleMania in New Orleans. Speaking of the tournament, Mark Andrews defeated Akira Tozawa to advance in the tournament. Drew Gulak advanced when he defeated Tony Nese with the dragon sleeper hold.
As noted last week, Vince McMahon stepped aside a few weeks ago and Triple H took over. Triple H’s vision is to get away from the sports entertainment storyline and focus on the in-ring action similar to how the Cruiserweight Classic was presented. Hopefully, fans give it some time and they’ll get into the brand. The long-term plans for the brand are to run regular live events once the TV show gets some traction.
Apparently, 205 Live isn’t the only brand undergoing changes. It looks like there are some changes coming to the pay-per-views. Click here to read more.
