Dolph Ziggler is making a lot of money with his new WWE contract… how much is the real question

Dolph Ziggler recently returned to WWE television after leaving the United States title laying in the ring in a scathing segment which hasn’t really been addressed yet. After entering at the #30 spot in the Royal Rumble, Ziggler was eliminated but he served his purpose of getting heat as the last man in the match because the Philly crowd wanted to see Daniel Bryan.

Then a couple weeks later, Ziggler made his SmackDown Live return facing Baron Corbin in a match that didn’t happen but he wound up in the main event at Fastlane for the WWE Championship anyway. Reports came out concerning his new contract and it was reported by Justin Barrasso of SI.com that Dolph Ziggler was pulling in a whopping 1.5 million dollars a year but this number has some doubters.

“It’d be unlikely because they usually top everyone off at a million,” Dave Meltzer said on Thursday’s Wrestling Observer Live. “So there are extenuating circumstances […] and usually the guys at a million are a little higher in the pecking order than Dolph. So I don’t know, I can check but based on the usual salary structure that sounds very unlikely.”

For what it’s worth, someone close to Ziggler denied the $1.5 million figure to us so that matches up with what Meltzer said on Thursday.
