It’s no secret that UFC announcer Joe Rogan is not a fan of professional wrestling. In fact, he has been critical of it for not being real like UFC but he admits that he was a fan when he was a teenager. Rogan admits to watching wrestlers like “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka and Bob Backlund when he was growing up. He also has talked about being a huge fan of Ric Flair because of his promos and even offered an invitation for Flair to appear on his podcast.
This week, Rogan analyzed some finishing moves. At one point, he was surprised to learn that wrestlers are allowed to tap out in matches. Tony Hinchcliffe pointed out that submissions have been a part of the business for a long time. He was wrong on one thing though – tapping out did not become popular in wrestling until the late 90’s, thanks to the rise in popularity of MMA.
