It shouldn’t be a huge surprise that WWE is aware of the indie wrestling scene because at this point it’s very hard to ignore. Eyeing new talent is one of the best things William Regal does which is one of the reasons why so many top indie names seem to end up in WWE. The indie wrestling scene is full of outstanding talent at this point and it looks like WWE could be looking to bring in two guys who have impressed people for years with their work.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports Keith Lee and Walter have been offered spots at the WWE Performance Center starting in May. Both of these guys have impressed everyone who had the pleasure of watching them work. They’re big guys who move incredibly well so it might be only a matter of time before NXT fans are treated to what these two can do in the ring.
Walter is a huge Austrian who is also known as Big Van Walter and he certainly deserves to borrow from Vader’s famous name by how he performs in the ring. He’s worked for Progress, Evolve, and other promotions for over a decade while doing his thing in the European indie wrestling scene.
Keith Lee is also incredibly impressive and has worked for over a decade as well perfecting his craft. He can pull off incredible moves for a guy his size and could fit in well with the WWE Universe.
So there could be some exciting additions to WWE’s payroll very soon if Keith Lee and Walter accept the deals which are reportedly on the table.
It is reported that the belief is Keith Lee will take WWE’s deal because he’s turned down indie wrestling dates after May. Walter might be a different story because he apparently has employee status with wXw in Europe and runs their wrestling school. He has also said in the past that he’s not interested. But as with many instances of WWE talking to indie names, neither side is allowed to comment at this point.
In addition to Walter and Keith Lee, Squared Circle Sirens’ Casey Michael reports Luke Menzies, Joe Coffey, and Daniel Vidot also have offers on the table. Menzies and Vidot are both pro rugby players whereas Joe Coffey is known all over the globe as the Ironman and has wrestled for several top indie promotions as well.
So that May class is looking like
WALTER
Keith Lee
Luke Menzies
Joe Coffey
Daniel Vidot (?)— 𝓬𝓪𝓼𝓮𝔂 𝓶𝓲𝓬𝓱𝓪𝓮𝓵 (@ifyouseekcasey) March 1, 2018
