Seth Rollins reveals how he felt about Extreme Rules crowd’s antics during his Ironman match

At Extreme Rules earlier this month (Sun. July 15, 2018) Dolph Ziggler put his Intercontinental Title up for grabs against Seth Rollins in a 30-minute Ironman match. The match, which was actually very good, was overshadowed by the Pittsburgh crowd’s constant counting down of the clock that was on the big screen.

Someone in the WWE production truck actually took the clock off the screen in attempt to help – but all that did was make things worse. The crowd started counting down at random points in the match instead. In fact, this seemingly upset Ziggler and Rollins a bit, who could be heard discussing the matter in the middle of their match on TV.

We recently noted that “The Architect” was the latest guest on former WWE ring announcer Lilian Garcia’s podcast, Chasing Glory. During the appearance the topic of the clock issue at Extreme Rules was brought up. Rollins expressed a bit of frustration for the incident, but noted Dolph Ziggler really suffered from it:

“Sometimes I don’t understand the concept of coming to a show and doing anything other than watch the show. I can’t imagine it,” Rollins said. “It is what it is. They know it’s a thirty minute match; they’re just going to get it out of their system.

“And then, somebody actually took the clock off the tron. And that was bad. It was like you were taking a toy away from a petulant child, and they’re just going to be a jerk to you about it. I know it really messed with Dolph [Ziggler].

“Like, he was super out of sync from how he normally is. I just let them do their thing. I knew we had thirty minutes, and by the end of it they’d be invested in what we were doing — and I think they were.”
