Why Renee Young filled in for Jonathan Coachman on commentary for last night’s WWE Raw

During last night’s episode of Monday Night Raw, Renee Young was filling in for Jonathan Coachman at the commentary booth.

No explanation was given for Coach’s absence, except that he was “on assignment.” It turns out, Coachman was actually doing more work for the Gold Channel. He was at the WinStar World Casino and Resort shooting for a two night event starting tonight (Tues. September 4, 2018) and Wednesday.

Here’s what Coachman had to say about his assignment for The Gold Channel below:

“Done with our night shoot at the @winstar_world as we get set for our 2 night event starting Tuesday and Wednesday 9et on @golf channel. Going to be fun.”

Last month Young made WWE history by becoming the first woman to serve as commentator for a full episode of Monday Night Raw. She was again filling in for Coachman who had other duties to attend to. Young was said to have impressed WWE officials with her job last month, and was open to more opportunities at commentary. Hence, last night.
