Roman Reigns has issued a statement on winning an ESPY Award for “Best WWE Moment.”
This year’s ESPYS ceremony took place on Wednesday at 8 pm ET on ABC and was hosted by Tracy Morgan. He won the award for his return to Raw after taking time off to battle leukemia.
The other nominees included Becky Lynch wins both Raw and SmackDown Women’s Championships at WrestleMania 35, Kofi Kingston wins first WWE Championship at WrestleMania 35, and Ronda Rousey captures her first WWE Women’s Championship at SummerSlam.
After the ceremony, Reigns took to his official Twitter account where he wrote the following:
“Coming back meant more than just returning to the ring. It meant I was healthy enough to show my gratitude for those who sent their prayers, who continually thought about me, and that I was ready to raise awareness. Thank you for all those who voted, it is an honor. #ESPYS @WWE.”
