Maria Kanellis took to Twitter today to vent about her time in WWE with some quotes of things she says she was told by WWE. There is no timeframe or context to the tweets but presumably, some of these quotes would have been around the time they signed new deals with the company. They signed multi-year contracts with the company in 2019.
The story that got out around the time of their signing in 2019 was that Maria told the company about her pregnancy after she signed the new contract. This lead to some fans accusing them of trying to cash in on WWE while sitting at home. However, it later came out that Maria did not know she was pregnant until after she signed her contract.
In a tweet from Bennett that was posted today, he made it clear that he never went to rehab while under contract to WWE. In fact, he was working on live events for several months when he wasn’t being featured on TV.
Maria and her husband Mike Bennett were released in April as part of budget cuts attributed to the coronavirus pandemic. Check out the tweets from Mike and Maria below.
