WWE’s Triple H on Austin Theory: He has the potential to be one of the biggest stars in the business

Triple H joins Vince McMahon in thinking highly of Austin Theory.

Theory is in the middle of his second run on the WWE main roster. Over time, he has been pushed steadily on television, including being part of a storyline with Vince McMahon.

When McMahon was in charge of creative, he reportedly thought Theory could be the next John Cena, a man that Theory looked up to as a kid and has expressed interest in working a match with.

While speaking to ESPN, Triple H commented on Theory’s potential as a top WWE star, noting that he thinks Theory has a high ceiling.

“It’s a nuanced feeling… once you see this guy’s a great athlete, I’m looking for their personality, their charisma. Austin Theory has it, and then some. Do I think he has all the potential to be one of the biggest stars in the business? Absolutely. What determines that? A lot of that is up to him now. You give him little bits of things here and there and he’s improving his game and he’s smart. He listens to the crowd, he listens to the people. He sees all the stuff that’s going on, and he adapts his game on a regular basis.”

Theory defeated Bobby Lashley with help from Brock Lesnar to retain his United States Title in the WWE Raw 30 headliner this past Monday night. As of this writing, he has not officially declared for the 30-Man WWE Royal Rumble Match.
