Although WWE WrestleMania 41 is still months away, there has been much talk about what is and isn’t in the works for the show.
Following WrestleMania 40, it was expected The Rock would face Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. This speculation was back on the forefront of many fans’ minds when Rock made a surprise appearance following the Bad Blood main event, in which Rhodes and Roman Reigns beat Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu.
At one point, WrestleVotes reported that a triple threat match with Rock, Reigns, and Rhodes was on the table for WrestleMania 41. Things got interesting when Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Rock was not scheduled for WrestleMania 41 and gave word he wouldn’t be able to do the match.
Rock responded in an Instagram comment on his post, noting, “Don’t believe any of that bull****.” On an episode of WrestleVotes Radio on SportsKeeda’s Backstage Pass Patreon, it was noted that plans for The Rock to wrestle at WrestleMania 41 are still in place.
While speaking to Vegas Revealed while in the city to promote the event, Rhodes was asked about the rumors going around for the Mania main event.
Rhodes said, “There are so many rumors circulating….It eats up the social feed, all the different rumors of what the matches might be. The hardest thing to do in WWE, and sports entertainment, and pro wrestling in general is not to win [the WWE Title], the hardest thing to do is main event WrestleMania. I don’t care what the rumor is, as long as the rumor is I’m in the main event of WrestleMania. I’m good with it. What I can say for those who keep an eye on the rumor, I bet you what they get at WrestleMania 41 is unexpected even to them yet. Even the people who follow this, the diehards who feel like they have their finger on the pulse, this one is going to be tough. This one is going to be unexpected, is the best way to put it, but in the best of ways.”
