A winter storm may play a role in the card for tonight’s episode of AEW Collision from Athens, GA, about an hour from Atlanta.
WSB TV in Atlanta reports a snowstorm is hitting Atlanta right now, leading to several flight delays and cancellations coming in and out of Hartsfield-Jackson Airport. Flights have been grounded several times throughout Friday. WSB noted, “More than 1,100 flights canceled at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Another 529 have been delayed, according to flight tracker Flight Aware.”
With AEW’s event being in the area, there may be issues for AEW talents getting in for the event. AEW CEO Tony Khan addressed the concern with this post on Twitter:
We’re excited for Saturday Night #AEWCollision in Athens, GA tomorrow!
Winter weather has hit the southeast, but the wrestlers are determined to be here!
If flights are canceled, AEW stars will drive in to make sure it’s a great show in Athens + on TBS and @StreamOnMax tomorrow!— Tony Khan (@TonyKhan) January 11, 2025
The following bouts have been announced for the show:
Mariah May vs Harley Cameron
Adam Copeland vs Big Bill
Dax Harwood vs Chris Jericho
