Adam Copeland does not know when his AEW contract expires, telling Clutch Points in a new interview that the company has extended his deal every time he has had to step away for injuries or film projects, leaving the actual end date of his arrangement open.
The reveal came in a longer conversation about Copeland’s AEW present and future ahead of his match at Double or Nothing. Copeland has been with AEW since October 2023, with the company having extended his original deal multiple times to accommodate breaks for medical recovery and Hollywood work.
“I broke my leg, so there’s injury time added, and I had to go film Beekeeper 2 and Percy Jackson, so that’s added. Anytime I have to take a break, that gets added on the back end. I’m not even sure when it’s up.”
Copeland suffered a tibia fracture during a steel cage match in 2024 at Double or Nothing.
Copeland and Christian Cage challenge FTR for the AEW Tag Team Championship in an I Quit Match at Double or Nothing on Sunday at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Flushing, NY. The match carries the stipulation that if Copeland and Cage lose, they will not be allowed to team together again.
