TBS Champion Hikaru Shida vs. Maya World took place at the AEW Redemption pay-per-view event from the Bell Centre in Montreal, QC.
Shida beat down World for the early going, even at one point, biting the forehead of World. World tried to fight from underneath through the bout. She eventually got some momentum with head kicks and a double foot stomp out of the corner and a moonsault off the top rope for 2. World hit an outside dive after avoiding a kendo stick shot. World went for a moonsault off the middle rope and Shida put the knee up and rolled her up for 2. Shida with several knee strikes before World rolled her up out of nowhere and it was on her birthday.
Winner: World – NEW Champ
