Andrade El Idolo and Sammy Guevara involved in a backstage fight before AEW Dynamite

TMZ is reporting that AEW stars Andrade El Idolo and Sammy Guevara were involved in a backstage fight that prior to tonight’s AEW Dynamite.

TMZ states that Andrade was sent home. This would explain why Tony Khan announced earlier that Andrade’s match with Preston Vance has been pulled from this Friday’s Rampage show.

Reportedly, words were exchanged between Andrade and Guevara and then Guevara allegedly pushed Andrade and punches were thrown. It’s not clear if anyone was hit and sources were adamant that this is not part of a storyline.

As previously noted, Andrade did an interview with Mas Lucha earlier this week and he brought up a recent altercation with Guevara where he claimed that Guevara complained about getting hit too hard in a match. Guevara fired back on Twitter and said that Andrade should go back to WWE because he only got his AEW job thanks to his father-in-law Ric Flair.

TMZ reports that several wrestlers are “pissed” at Sammy for publicly airing out private issues and things boiled over at the arena.

UPDATE: Guevara is at the show. He appeared during a backstage segment and he is still scheduled to wrestle later in the show.
