Jim Ross had high praise for Kenny Omega following his AEW World Championship win, calling him the best in-ring performer in the business.
Speaking on Grilling JR, the WWE Hall of Famer congratulated Omega, whom he considers a close friend, and noted that the star has stayed in touch with him throughout his recent health battle.
“I congratulate Kenny Omega. Consider him a good friend. He’s one of the few guys that keeps in touch with me during my convalescence,” Ross said.
Ross praised AEW’s roster-building and singled out Omega as a performer who operates on another level.
“AEW is building a hell of a talent roster. It’s looking better and better every time I look up,” Ross said. “He pushes himself hard. He believes in his own abilities.”
For Ross, no one in the industry does it better than Omega.
“I don’t know anybody in the wrestling business on any side of the fence that’s a better in-ring performer than Kenny Omega,” Ross said. “I don’t know anybody in business today that performs at a higher level consistently than Kenny Omega. So AEW is lucky to have him, no doubt about that.”
