Paul Wight says Kyle Fletcher checks every box and has huge star potential.
The AEW commentator told Scott Johnson on News4JAX’s Going Ringside that two wrestlers impress him most in AEW right now: Fletcher and AEW World Champion Will Ospreay.
“I would have to say the guy that right now that I think is the most impressive that does one hell of a job are two guys. Will Ospreay. Will Ospreay is absolutely amazing to watch,” Wight said. “And all around right now, the guy I think is building incredible momentum and I see huge big star potential is Kyle Fletcher.”
Wight said Fletcher has everything a top star needs.
“He checks every box. Interview ability, wrestling ability, tenacity, aggression, his attitude for the industry, his willingness to work hard, the way he presents himself, his interaction with guys in the locker room, you know, behind the scenes,” Wight said. “He’s very humble, very quiet, very good kid. And I like seeing what he does.”
He added that Fletcher has “got money written on him.”
Fletcher challenges Ospreay for the AEW World Championship at Full Gear on Saturday, November 14, at Mortgage Matchup Center in Phoenix. The match was made after Fletcher beat Jack Perry on the October 28 Dynamite and called himself the uncrowned AEW World Champion. Ospreay retained the title in the Clockwork Carnage match at WrestleDream on October 17.
Before that, the two are on opposite sides of the men’s Blood and Guts match on Dynamite this Wednesday, November 4, at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida. Ospreay teams with Darby Allin, Steven Borden, Adam Copeland and The Young Bucks against the Don Callis Family’s Kazuchika Okada, Fletcher, Kevin Knight, Wardlow, Mark Davis and Jake Doyle.
AEW Dynamite: Blood and Guts airs at 8 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. CT on TBS and HBO Max.
