Police say there are no signs of foul play in the death of Benjamin Satterley (PAC).
The Des Plaines Police Department told TMZ that investigators do not believe anything criminal happened. The cause and manner of death have not been released. Police said both are pending further examination by the medical examiner.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office previously told TMZ that an autopsy had been performed, but that additional testing could take several weeks.
Satterley was found unresponsive inside a car in the parking lot of a CAVA restaurant in Des Plaines, Illinois, around 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 27. Customers saw him in the vehicle and called 911, and some searched the restaurant for medical equipment before paramedics arrived, according to a witness who spoke to the California Post. He was pronounced dead at 4:08 p.m., according to the medical examiner’s office. Des Plaines borders O’Hare International Airport. He was 40.
His death came less than a day after he wrestled at AEW All Out at the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. He challenged Andrade El Idolo for the AEW National Championship on Saturday night and later appeared during the main event between Jon Moxley and Will Ospreay. He showed no visible signs of a health problem during the show.
AEW announced his death on Sunday night.
