The mystery surrounding Jack Perry’s AEW future has been solved, and it turns out his new deal was signed in plain sight.
According to Fightful Select, Perry officially re-signed with AEW during the on-screen contract signing that aired on this past Wednesday’s Dynamite. The moment was not just for show, as it doubled as the real thing.
“Jack Perry’s contract signing was legitimate, and we’re told it was the actual contract being signed on the AEW segment. He had not re-signed prior to that,” Fightful reported.
The news brings an end to weeks of speculation about the former Jungle Boy’s status. Since June, it had been reported that Perry’s AEW contract was nearing its expiration and that he had yet to put pen to paper on a new one.
Following Forbidden Door, Tony Khan indicated that the plan was for Perry to remain with AEW for a long time, though he did not offer specifics. Throughout the renegotiation period, Perry continued to appear and compete on AEW programming.
Earlier this year, Perry captured the AEW National Championship by defeating Ricochet, before dropping the title to Mark Davis in May. Davis remains the champion.
