Will Ospreay recently declined talks with WWE

The world is experiencing a huge renaissance of sorts in professional wrestling. New Japan Pro Wrestling has really stepped it up and they are putting on some of the best shows while bringing in a passionate fanbase.

Will Ospreay is one of the brightest stars out there in New Japan and his match against Kazuchika Okada is bound to be stellar. The Aerial Assassin’s services are in high demand but it seems like he’s very happy in NJPW for now.

Ospreay recently spoke to Chris Jericho on Talk Is Jericho about his decision to stay in New Japan and although he always had WrestleMania dreams as a kid, Will doesn’t know if he could handle WWE’s demanding schedule.

“Those guys are wrestling on Christmas Day and New Years and that would have killed me. Christmas to me is family and I love being with my family and that would have just murdered me. I don’t think I could do it, I really don’t.”

As it turns out he might have had the opportunity to make the leap to WWE as he went on to reveal that he recently declined talks with Vince McMahon and Company.

“I had a phone call the other day [from WWE] actually asking like questioning contracts and stuff like that and I was just like, ‘I appreciate it but I’m quite happy here like I love being a part of this.'”

Will Ospreay’s epic match against Ricochet in the 2016 Battle Of The Super Juniors tournament will likely go on as a career highlight for both of those incredible stars. Since Ricochet is now firmly in WWE, it makes sense that they might want to bring in Ospreay for a version of that encounter under a WWE banner. But for now, it sounds like Will Ospreay is very happy where he is.
