On this week’s episode of Impact Wrestling, James Storm said goodbye to the company after losing a “loser leaves Impact” match to American Top Team co-founder Dan Lambert.
Storm was up against the odds because he had to fight off several members of ATT. He was pinned after two beer bottles were broken on his head.
This is a legitimate goodbye. Some of you may already know this if you read the spoilers from November but if you were not keeping up, Storm is leaving the company because he was one of the few big money contracts remaining and the company is in serious cost-cutting mode. There’s no word on Storm’s potential future with WWE but the door was left open for him a couple of years ago when he had the brief stint in NXT.
Storm is likely not the last big name leaving soon. Click here to read about two former World Champions believed to be leaving the company soon and possibly headed to WWE.
