CM Punk has a torn triceps

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has confirmed that CM Punk’s injury in his match against Jon Moxley at AEW All Out is a torn left triceps.

The match saw him become a two-time World Heavyweight Champion. The injury happened when performed a tope.

It’s still unknown whether he had surgery to repair the injury yet. The typical recovery time is 6-8 months. Christian Cage has a similar injury.

It has yet to be revealed whether Punk will be suspended or fired for being involved in the brawl at the post-All Out press conference with Kenny Omega, Ace Steel, and The Young Bucks.

AEW has suspended Omega and The Bucks in addition to stripping them of the Trios Titles.

AEW President Tony Khan announced during this week’s Dynamite that the World Heavyweight Title had been vacated but didn’t reference the fight nor any of those suspended, as there is still an ongoing investigation and potential legal ramifications.

Regardless of the punishment from the fight, the promotion would’ve needed to come up with an alternative plan for the World Heavyweight Title because of Punk’s injury.

Wade Keller of PWTorth recently reported that the feeling backstage is that Punk probably won’t be back.
