As was noted earlier, there were a lot of WWE employees let go earlier today.
One of the surprising names let go was Dana Warrior, the widow of the late Ultimate Warrior. After her husband’s death, Dana got involved behind the scenes with the company, notably with the Warrior Award and various charity events.
Dana Warrior later joined the creative team but she finished up in that role last year and continued to work with WWE’s Community department. She is one of many who were let go today. In fact, the belief is that over 100 people were let go.
PWInsider reported that some divisions in the company were absolutely “ripped apart” during today’s layoffs. The Insights & Analytics team had more than 20 people in that division and they are now down to three people. There were also cuts in the marketing, graphic design, and live events department.
Nick Khan reportedly told employees to go to the new company headquarters on Tuesday for a company meeting. For those of you wondering about talent cuts, there has been no indication that there would be any releases anytime soon but anything’s possible now that the merger is complete.
