Ray Rougeau Says Jacques Rougeau’s ‘Bad Blood’ With Vince McMahon Put A ‘Damper’ On Fabulous Rougeau’s WWE Hall Of Fame Hopes

Former WWE star Raymond Rougeau of the Fabulous Rougeau Brothers tag team recently spoke with Steve Fall during for an exclusive for WrestlingNews.co. Ray discussed his wrestling career, why he retired so young, his years as an announcer, boxing Owen Hart, his issues with The Ultimate Warrior and more. The entire interview can be watched below.

On boxing Owen Hart in 1996:

“He (Ray Rougeau’s son) said, ‘Am I ever going to see you in the ring one day?’ I didn’t want to say no, but I wasn’t gonna say yes. I said, ‘Maybe one day.’ I figured it would pass, but it didn’t. I told Vince I would like to do one more match.’ He said, ‘Okay.’ I said, ‘I want to do a boxing match.’ He said, ‘Why a boxing match?’ I said, ‘Because there’s nothing I want to do in my wrestling career and I always liked boxing.”

If he feels the Fabulous Rougeau Brothers (Ray and Jacques) will ever be in the Hall of Fame:

“I think it could happen. The only thing is the Hall of Fame, there’s a certain political side and business side to it. At one point, my brother had some bad blood with Vince, so that put a little damper on that. I always had a great relationship with Vince, so it kind of evens that out. They always do that at WrestleMania. If WrestleMania was to be held in Montreal, we’d be in. If you notice where they have WrestleMania, the Hall of Fame will have a certain local flavor to the Hall of Fame induction. They would have to come to Montreal I think for it to happen for us.”
